Hey everyone! Today, I decided I wanted to do a little DIY post since I haven't really done one in a long time! I hope you enjoy it! Here's how to make a clock from a record. :)
What You Need:
Old/New Records (I got mine for 1.75 each at an antique store)
Paint of your Choice
Clock Hands/Battery Pack (should be available at any craft store - I got mine from Hobby Lobby)
How to Make It:
This is probably one of the simplest crafts I have done in awhile! The first thing you want to do is paint the record any color, shape, or way you want. I decided to paint mine a light blue color. Also, to get your color opaque, you will most likely need about 3 to 4 coats, especially with lighter colors.
Next, when the paint is all dry, which I gave a good day to do, you will want to begin placing your numbers. The best way I found to do this is to first place the 12, 3, 6, and 9. This will set up your four quadrants. You can either stop here and place the clock parts in or continue like I did with the rest of the numbers. To help me make sure they were lined up as best as I could get them, I actually used a ruler!
Once all the numbers are where you want them to be, you can go ahead and place the battery set in the middle of the record. These could be a different type than mine, so go ahead and read the instructions on the package to set it up correctly. Now, pop in a battery if need be, set your clock to the right time, and you're good to go!
You now have your very own DIY clock made from a record! :)
